Gas production & gas storage
To ensure a sustainable and secure gas supply, technically feasible solutions that offer both environmental and economic benefits must be developed and implemented. In addition to engineering, applied and basic research have a long tradition in this field. We research and develop solutions for the extraction and storage of various energy sources, including natural gas and hydrogen. The goal is to develop technologies for cost-effectively balancing fluctuations in gas demand, to promote the environmentally friendly use of wind and solar power through underground hydrogen storage, and to enable the climate-neutral use of fossil fuels through underground carbon dioxide storage.
Engineering & Consulting
Our comprehensive services cover a wide range of expertise. We have extensive experience in the fields of GIS applications, 3D modeling, and 3D reservoir simulation as well as with all types of underground gas storage facilities (aquifers, oil-gas fields, caverns), sour gas fields, and heavy oil reservoirs, from geological exploration and commissioning to decommissioning and safe storage.

Research & Development
We are a competent partner for applied research into secure and environmentally compatible energy supply using natural gas as an energy source, underground, large-volume storage of renewable energy using power-to-gas and underground hydrogen storage.
- Suitability studies of reservoir fluids, storage and overburden rocks for natural gas, H2 and CO2 underground gas storage facilities
- Laboratory tests and model adaptations for multiphase flow gas/water/oil, CO2/water and gas mixing (H2/natural gas, L-gas/H-gas)
- Development of thermodynamic and fluid dynamic models for underground storage of specialty gases such as H2 & CO2
- Material designs for special bore completions (H2, CO2)
- Technology development and optimization for low-permeability reservoir rocks
- Reduction of risks in frac/crack production
